We’re excited to share some fantastic news – A Better Tomorrow has been awarded £750 from the Shropshire Community Foundation’s Acorn Fund to support our new project, ‘Let’s Go Fishing’!
Over 10 weeks, 40 of our clients will be heading out to the water to take part in weekly fishing sessions designed to improve wellbeing, reduce isolation, and encourage connection through the simple, peaceful act of fishing.
Why fishing? Because it works. Spending time outdoors, away from screens and stress, offers a unique opportunity to reflect, relax, and reset. Fishing encourages patience, mindfulness and calm. But even more importantly, it brings people together. Each session will be a chance not just to cast a line, but to share stories, build confidence, and enjoy the company of others on a similar journey.
Thanks to the generous support from the Acorn Fund, we’ll be able to cover the cost of equipment, travel and support.
We’re proud to be part of a community that supports initiatives like this. The Acorn Fund is all about helping small, local projects make a big difference and we believe Let’s Go Fishing is exactly that.
Stay tuned for updates and stories from the riverbank!
