As one of the founders of A Better Tomorrow CIC, Paul has worked tirelessly to champion people in recovery for the over ten years. His own journey with addiction led to a new career within detox units and then to setting up ABT as a way to create a more holistic, people centred and peer-led approach to recovery. The tenacity required in getting the first house opened is a testament to Paul’s passion and energy and has provided the momentum to push the organisation forward to where they are now.
Ollie Atkin
Born and bred in North Shropshire, Ollie aims to bring both professional and personal experience to the role of Trustee. Addicted to alcohol from a very early age until his late-twenties, he managed to find a pathway out of addiction when a drink-drive ban forced him to ride a bicycle for transport. Since gaining recovery, Ollie has been dedicated to encouraging more people into cycling, as a way of improving mental and physical health. Recovery not only revolutionised Ollie’s health but also enabled him to fulfil his potential in the world of business, currently in a leadership position in one of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers.
Initially involved in A Better Tomorrow CIC back in 2017, supporting with cycling activities, Ollie is proud to join the ABT Charity team and looks to bring his professional expertise in business agility, building high-performance teams and lean thinking.
