September Recovery Month Roundup!

September 2025 was nothing short of an extraordinary month for A Better Tomorrow, jam-packed with #RecoveryMonth events and regular activities that brought our community together in many different, powerful ways.

We ‘kicked off’ the month with a loud-pitched whistle at our 7th Annual Memorial Football Tournament. It set the pace for what would be an incredible journey of connection, celebration, and growth.

Throughout September, our popular activity programmes continued to be well attended. Badminton remained an ABT favourite offering with 133 attendances registered, while 58 footballers built on the momentum from August’s tournament and 29 people found peace and focus during our fishing sessions. Our bakers and chefs continued to cook up a storm with 86 combined attendances. We’re incredibly proud that 69% of our clients rated our services as excellent or good.

At the heart of Recovery Month was the Faces and Voices of Recovery UK Conference and Walk in Wolverhampton. Martin and Scott connected with fellow recovery organisations through inspiring talks and presentations. We also proudly attended the launch of Telford & Wrekin Council’s Recovery Charter, standing alongside our partners in the recovery community.

"It was a highly engaging and uplifting conference with a well-balanced programme featuring live expert panel discussions and professional presentations. The event also included a successful play about a client’s journey.”

The month concluded triumphantly at the Telford Recovery Conference, where we celebrated outstanding achievements across our community.

Congratulations to our award winners:

  • Alex Mead
  • Martin Lineton
  • Christopher Anderson
  • Marc Robson
  • Gareth Ellis
  • Jimmy Hall,
  • Stephenie Langhorn-Turner

An (unexpected) milestone came when we welcomed Rt Hon Rachel Reeves and Steve Reed MP to showcase the work at ABT as part of the £30 million Pride in Place investment announcement for Woodside, Sutton Hill, and Brookside. This is a game-changing opportunity for our local community, watch this space!

“It was great to meet Rt Hon Rachel Reeves and show her around A Better Tomorrow's centre yesterday. This is a much-needed injection of money for our local community of Woodside.”

Make sure you’re following ABT LinkedIn to get all our news as it happens!
