Young people in Telford now have access to a vital new mental health service, as A Better Tomorrow (ABT), Telford Mind, and Telford & Wrekin Adult Social Care launch a dedicated Calm Café for 18–25-year-olds.

The new service provides a safe, welcoming space for young adults who find themselves in crisis or need support with their emotional and mental health.

Operating across two locations in Telford, the Calm Café offers drop-in sessions where young people can access immediate support, explore coping mechanisms, and receive referrals to further services if needed.

Sessions run:

  • Wednesdays, 1pm–3pm at Dawley Town Hall (TF2 7PR)
  • Thursdays, 5pm–7.45pm at Meeting Point House (TF3 4HS)

Scott, CEO of ABT, welcomed the new partnership: “It is great that ABT are able to be a part of the much-needed provision of a calm cafe for 18–25-year-olds. With ABT already playing a large part in the dual diagnosis calm cafe, we will bring our expertise and experience to this new provision. Working alongside Telford Mind, Telford & Wrekin, and adult social care, I can only see this being a successful addition to the existing calm cafes.”

The Calm Café is available to anyone aged 18 and over who needs support to prevent a crisis. No appointment is needed, young people can simply drop in for a chat, support or just a calm space to be.

For more information or to make a referral, contact Telford Mind on 07434 869248 or email talk2@telford-mind.co.uk.

A huge thank you to Tim, who has been working tirelessly to spread the word across Telford, making sure everyone from the police to local libraries and fellow charities is aware of the new initiative.
