A Better Tomorrow is delighted that our Chief Operating Officer, Martin Cantrill, has joined the newly established Pride in Place Board, which held its first meeting this week.
The Board has been formed to oversee the delivery of a £30 million investment programme for Woodside, Brookside and Sutton Hill. The programme includes £20 million from the UK Government’s Pride in Place initiative, alongside a further £10 million investment from Telford & Wrekin Council, creating a significant opportunity to strengthen communities and improve opportunities across the area.
The first meeting brought together residents, local businesses, community leaders and organisations to begin shaping a long term vision for the three communities. Early discussions focused on ensuring local people are at the heart of decision making, with plans already in place for a programme of community engagement and funding for resident led projects that can begin making a difference while longer term plans are developed.
As an organisation rooted in Woodside, A Better Tomorrow is proud to be represented on the Board and to help ensure the voices of local people, particularly those facing disadvantage, are heard throughout the programme.

Over the coming months, the Pride in Place Board will continue developing priorities for investment, with residents, businesses and community organisations invited to help shape a ten year vision for the future of Woodside, Brookside and Sutton Hill.
